Who are we looking for?
  • You have experience with MIG/MAG or TIG welding;
  • You are willing to work in a 2 or 3 shift system;
  • You are available full time and for a longer period;
  • You work reliable, accurate and correct;
  • You are able to work independently;
  • Welding certificates / diplomas are not necessary, experience counts!

 

What do we offer you?
  • A starting salary of €22,06 gross per hour (incl. shift bonus) in 2- shifts;
  • A starting salary of € 22,82 gross per hour (incl. shift bonus) in 3- shifts;
  • € 0,97 ADV allowance, € 0,26 SAO allowance;
  • 8.33% holiday money;
  • 25 holidays per year based on full-time employment;
  • Travel allowance from 10 km one way;
  • A full-time position for a longer period, in 2 or 3 shifts, with a chance of taking over by Cummins good performance;

Job description

Cummins Emission Solutions manufactures exhaust systems and catalysts for automotive brands suchs as DAF and Scania. The exhaust systems consist of various components that require welding. This involves MIG/MAG and TIG welding thin stainless steel plate material (+- 3 mm thick). Other activities include the manufacture of silencers, pipes, flanges, catalysts and heat shields. These products are made by sawing, bending, punching, pressing and various welding techniques. The welder may carry out work at other workstations where necessary.

As a welder, you are responsible for making welded connections. The products to be welded are series or repeat orders. Every year, the welder must pass a proficiency test by making a test piece (validation process).

Your work as a welder consists of 4 parts:

1. Preparation

  • Reading drawings, photos and work instructions;
  • Reading work order and welding joint drawings;
  • Setting up the welding machine;
  • Applying appropriate (auxiliary) tools;
  • Consulting with the Gap Leader on the approach to the work;
  • Handling the correct work sequence and the like to prevent distortion.

2. Welding

  • Inserting parts in the mould or clamping parts;
  • Manual welding using various welding methods;
  • Welding joints with welding machines using the technique of resistance welding;
  • Welding of products meeting quality standards.

 3. Control

  • Checking the quality of welding and verifying that it is within tolerance;
  • Checking dimensions with control jigs;
  • Visually checking the appearance of welds and adjusting tools and machine if necessary;
  • Calling in the Gap Leader for complex faults (2nd line) and quality deviations.

4. Post-processing

  • Freeing product from weld spatter using a wire brush;
  • n case of rejection, independently making small corrections to the product and administering this digitally;
  • During manual welding, wire sleeves are used to prevent weld spatter;
  • Remove weld spatter formed during welding on visible and invisible parts.
